Classic Crispy Beef Tacos

  • Yield: 8-10 Tacos

Ingredients

  • 10 Frescados Yellow Corn Tortillas
  • ½ yellow onion, diced
  • 1 jalapeño, seeded and diced
  • 1 LB ground beef
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • ½ tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ cup chopped tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • Cooking oil

Preperation

In a large skillet, sauté onion, jalapeno in oil until soft. Cook garlic until fragrant, then add ground beef. Stir in taco seasonings, then add in chopped tomatoes. Finish off with the lime juice and you taco filling is done. Set aside.

Heat two inches of oil in a heavy skillet. Using tongs, fry tortillas into a U shape, one side at a time until crispy. Let rest to drain on a flat paper towel

Assemble tacos with shredded cheese first, followed by beef mixture and top with lettuce, tomato, salsa, sour cream and enjoy!
